I’m in the process of updating this page with complete 2023-24 programs and pricing, including specific programs and workshops offered. In the meantime, basic pricing is outlined below; please email kate(at)clockworkfoundry(dot)com for additional information.
15-20 Minute Virtual Q&A: Free to classes in which all students have completed the entire selected book (please schedule only after you have finished reading); also free with a classroom set book purchase (minimum 20 copies).
45-60 Minute Virtual Visit: $1000 per session, payable by the end of the visit day; eligible for classroom set discount (see below).
In-Person Visit: $4500/day plus airfare, payable by the end of the visit day. Eligible for classroom set discount (see below), though you may wish to choose to partner with a local independent bookstore for book sales instead. I am also happy to split the day between multiple locations if it helps neighboring schools to share the cost. If I am spending the entire day at a single school, a full day visit usually allows for up to 3 sessions.
Compensation for all paid events is due by the end of the visit day, or in the case of multi-session programs, by the end of the first visit day. I accept checks, Paypal, or Venmo.
Book sales: I am delighted to be able to offer signed and personalized books at a 15% discount to you, your students, and their families through McNally Jackson Books. Shipping is free for purchases of $50 or more, sent to the same address. Book sales are never expected, but are always greatly appreciated, and I do ask that schools make this offer available to parents.
Classroom set discount: Because book sales help to convince my publisher to buy more stories from me in the future, I’d love to make it easy for you to buy classroom sets of my books. Therefore, with the help of McNally Jackson Books, I’ve created a visit/book package that costs essentially the same as the visit alone. If your school purchases a classroom set (minimum 20 copies) of any of my titles from McNally Jackson, I will discount the visit of your choice by $200 (with a paperback set purchase) or $300 (with a hardcover set purchase), and the wonderful folks at McNally will offer a 20% discount on the purchase, with free media-rate shipping. The combined discounts mean that (assuming you are making a tax-exempt purchase) the minimum set purchase price is completely offset, so you pay no more for the combined set and visit than you would for the visit alone.

Note that I’ve set my visit discount to be sure the minimum purchase of 20 copies is offset. If you buy more than 20 hardcovers, your total will go up (in the case of a pb purchase, on the other hand, my visit discount actually covers significantly more than the minimum purchase so you can truly go nuts on paperbacks).
