  1. Hey Kate!

I was just cruising through your books and website, and I recently followed you on Twitter as well!
My name is Christopher J. Calhoun, and, like you, I too would like to write middle grade fantasy and children’s books. It’s always been my dream to publish books of my own, especially books for children.
I’m twenty years old, so I know I have a long way to go, but I was wondering if you had any tips or advice about how to get published, or ways that I could get published. I currently have a children’s book manuscript of my own, but I’m wondering the right way to go about finding an agent/getting it published. I just recently moved out to L.A., so I’m wondering if you happen to know any potential groups or organizations I could join, that would be great as well!

Thank you so much, continue to keep writing, and continue to keep inspiring children!

  2. Hi, Christopher. This reminds me that I need to finally get moving on the FAQs page. My best suggestion for you, resource-wise, is the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Authors (SCBWA). They have chapters around the country and an annual conference in CA in the summer, and their website is a tremendous resource in itself but also provides links to other excellent resources.

    Best of luck!
